In 2025/2026, the VPP will utilise Home Office funding to support our local partnerships as they develop their means of identifying cohorts of young people who are at risk or on the cusp of being drawn into crime and violence.
Focused Diversion will be locally-developed means of providing support that is contextually tailored, is person-centred, and seeks to provide positive support, diversionary activities and joined-up multi-agency case management both for the individual and for their family as necessary.
Through Focused Diversion approaches, drawing upon learning and research as to best practice, support packages that address the root causes of violence will help prevent young people from offending behaviours.
