Webinar to launch “Stay True to You” campaign

Over 180 people joined an online webinar hosted by the Violence Prevention Partnership on Wednesday 15 May ahead of the launch of a new safety campaign and resources.

The webinar was attended by representatives from across local partnerships including local authorities, youth justice, sports clubs, voluntary and community sector organisations, education and health partners.

Informed by having worked with young people and youth workers from across the Thames Valley region, “Stay True to You” is a new communications approach which seeks to promote a positive message for young people, empowering them to have confidence in their own abilities to stay safe.

But a major focus of the approach is that it is the trusted adults around young people who are the best people to help deliver these messages, provide advice and build relationships where they feel safe to ask for help.

“Stay True to You” offers a new website with separate areas for young people, for parents/communities, and for practitioners.

There are a set of resources for practitioners to help them have positive conversations.

We have also partnered with The Ben Kinsella Trust to deliver training – with dates being finalised for parents/family/community training sessions, and also dates for practitioners working with young people.
